I think the hardest part about Mondays is getting out of bed. the snooze button appears to be your friend, giving you an extra ten minutes to sleep, but in all actuality it's the enemy of getting your day started. yet, when you're up, and you're moving, then the day begins. I ride the bus to school, and although I catch the late bus, I usually get to my first class on time. sometimes, I'm three or four minutes late, but it's all good. my professor does not penalize my late arrival, mainly because she's a really cool person. I had her for an English class last semester; it's nice to have a familiar instructor, because you understand and acclimate to their teaching method. today I got to class about ten minutes late. granted, I could get on the 8:30am bus, but I'm lazy (I'll admit it) and I sleep in another twenty minutes and catch the 9:10am bus. this gets me to the bus depot at 9:30am, and in turn the bus for UK leaves at 9:50am. today the bus driver was messing around with the wheelchair lift, and we got to the campus a bit late today. I had the opportunity to make conversation with a woman, who is much older than I, whom I spoke with about her ability in the class. I made the observation that she was very in tune with the material of the class. she gave me a bit of background about herself, and I could tell that she is very emphatic about her education. like me, she's an English major, and a non-traditional student. we both agreed that the non-traditional students appreciate their education a bit more than the average 18 to 21 year-olds. I tend to establish a good report with those I see who take their education seriously. it's an inspiring moment to speak with someone who's doing better in the class than you, there's much to withdraw from them through conversation. class has ended, and I'm here in the Fine Arts Computer Lab, tapping away at the keyboard. I have less than 4 weeks left of this semester. when I first came to the University of Kentucky, I was really intimidated, due to the reputation this university holds, as being one of the most prestigious of all Kentucky colleges. the population also sent a shiver down my spine, for there's a lot of people here. but already into my second semester, almost complete, I feel at home as I always do when I merge into the study requisites. college is all about effort and perseverance. you gotta study, you have to work hard, and you have to focus. I think if you know your Self, you can do anything. I suppose this entry is about the beginning of my day, and as always, Mondays are the hardest of them all.
to another day, another moment, to make things great.
